What is the difference between a square and a running metre?

Why do the prices differ between square metre and running metres?

A square metre is larger than a running metre , by factor 1.66666, therefore the price of a square metre is 1.6666 times that of a running metre.

Is your work Guarenteed?

In the case of most engineered stone, a lifetime warranty covers the material for inherent defects.

Are you insured?

We carry adequate public liability insurance

Do you use "1st Grade" material?

All of our materials used are purchased from long –established local slab producers and importers. We inspect each slab for defects prior to cutting. We do not purchase so called “2nd grade” materials

Can we choose our own slabs?

Yes, slabs may be chosen by the client and reserved at any of the slab suppliers

What is your deposit policy?

We require a 70% Deposit prior to cutting. The balance is payable on completion of the installation orders under R8000 we require paid in full prior to cutting

Do you work outside Gauteng?

Yes we do, subject to applicable transport/accommodation costs being acceptable to the client

What do your prices include?

Our prices include VAT, installation , standard type and quality cut-outs within reason

Can we supply other countries?

We can,we have supplied several export orders in the past

Will you send a representative to take accurate on-site measurements?

Yes, there is no charge for this service

Can you quote and manufacture from a drawing?

Yes, we can quote on the basis of a drawing, subject to on –site measurements. However manufacturing from a drawing is at clients own risk.

What can I use to polish granite?

Granite polishing powder: Also called stone polishing compound, powder offers a quick and easy way to put a fresh gleam on granite while removing minor scratches and stains. If using it dry, choose a buff polishing pad to work the polish over the surface of the granite in a steady, circular pattern.

How long will a granite countertop last?

Granite tends to last longer on average than most other countertop materials. Here's a look at the average life expectancy for popular countertop materials: Natural stone & granite: 100+ years. Concrete countertops (for that industrial look): 20 years.

Is quartz or granite better?

Quartz is actually harder than granite and thus, more durable. In fact, quartz is nearly indestructible, and because it isn't porous like granite, it's easy to keep your countertops relatively bacteria-free. Be careful with cooking pans though: Quartz can be damaged by excessive heat, so use heating pads at all times.

Which countertops are easiest to maintain?

The leading quartz brands include Silestone and Cesarstone. Quartz is an ideal material because it has the look and performance of stone such as granite or marble without the inherent weaknesses. It won't stain and is non-porous. Therefore, it is low-maintenance and very easy to clean.

How hard is granite?

The strongest mineral, diamond, is a 10. Minerals that are lower down on the Mohs scale cannot damage higher number minerals. Granite is a composite, made of feldspar and quartz, with a hardness of 6 and 7 respectively. This makes granite a fairly tough material!
